The “Hidden Figures” Behind “Rosie the Riveter”

In 2016, the movie Hidden Figures inspired the world with the widely unknown story of three African-American women mathematicians – Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, and Mary Jackson – who played a pivotal role in the early development and successes of the US space program, NASA.

Throughout history, the contributions of women and African-Americans supporting and driving US growth and global dominance have routinely been shadowed.  This article is another great story, revealing the “hidden figures” behind WW2 cultural icon, “Rosie the Riveter”.
